Obituary

Narcisse "Frenchy" Deneu of Wiccopee entered into rest 10 June 2017 at his home with his loving family at his side. A Memorial Service will be at 11am Saturday, 21 October 2017 at the First Reformed Church in Fishkill.
Born on 17 April 1932 in Grand-Luce, (Sarthe), France to the late Louise and Le`a Deneu, he was the second eldest of nine children in which he nurtured and assisted while the family and his homeland was occupied by Germany during WWII. After serving his mandatory Civil Service to the French Army, receiving honorable discharge, he immigrated to America on 21 October 1955 to Newburgh, New York.
He first worked as a baker and then in construction. Soon after, he built his home in Wiccopee with his first wife Beatrice in which they raised three children. As proudly stated on his business card, "Jack of All Trades", Frenchy was trusted by and referred endlessly to many residents in the area for his attention to detail and high work ethic. Frenchy continued all his life appreciating and loving the land. He actively gardened with vibrant vegetable gardens, and was known for his love of roses and dahlias. He was a proud supporter of the Cornell Cooperative Extension and faithful supporter that never missed the Dutchess County Fair. He contributed to the community with 14 years as a volunteer fireman with the Wiccopee Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Helen Doyle Beckwith Deneu; his son Claude Deneu; daughter Eileen Deneu of Millbrook; his son Pierre Deneu of Mons, Belgium; his siblings in France, Suzanne and husband Rene, Bernard, Yvette and husband Jean Claude, Norbert, Remy and Nicole and husband Michael, and their families; his stepsons, Stephen D. Beckwith, D. Shawn Beckwith; and grandson Caleb I.W. Beckwith. He was preceded by his parents; sister Raymonde Le`a; brothers Roland and Bernard; and first wife Beatrice.
A Memorial Service on 21 October 2017 at 11am will be held at the First Reformed Church, 1153 Main Street, Fishkill to celebrate the life of a proud man who enriched the lives of all who knew him.
