Pleasant Valley – Nat Jim Marinelli "Sonny", 91, formerly of Fishkill, NY, passed away peacefully at home on February 28, 2024 surrounded by his family.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 8, 1932 to Anthony and Bernice (Ball) Marinelli.

Nat enlisted and proudly served his country in the United States Navy on the USS Briareus during the Korean War. He worked in Quality Control for the Department of Defense in Bridgeport, CT. On April 12, 1986, he married Kathleen Kokser, in Beacon NY. Kathleen survives at home.

Nat was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He was always up for a round of golf and enjoyed going to the gym with his son, Anthony. He painted the best pictures. Most especially, Nat was known as "Grandpa Magic" to his grandchildren and will be performing his magic tricks in eternity up in Heaven.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Diane Brown of Ilion, NY, Michael Kokser of Shamong, NJ, and Tina Marie Rubin of Pleasant Valley, NY. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Anthony Marinelli III, Michael Marinelli, Jessica Williams, Jennifer Angle, Jonathan Brown, Courtney Amato, Kara Marie McKowen, Richard Yesner, Anthony Yesner, Joe Yesner, Paul DiGiovanni, Lann Rubin and Stefano Rubin; his great-grandchildren, Mallory, Rory, Zera, Zaiden, Brianna, Isabella, Sophia, Arleigh, Addy, Hunter and was looking forward to meeting his two great-grandchildren who are on the way; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Nat was predeceased by his sons Anthony Marinelli and Eric Kokser.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024 from 6-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 10 am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill followed by burial at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
