Neil Marcellus, a long-time local resident, passed away on April 9th, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on November 4th, 1956, in Amsterdam, New York, he was the son of the late Dudley and Shirley (Fancher) Marcellus. After graduating from John Jay High School, Neil attended Hobart Institution of Welding Technology in Troy, Ohio.
On October 21, 1978, Neil married his high school sweetheart, Deborah (McKenna) who survives at home. They built their home together in Poughkeepsie where they raised their two children, Dana and Craig.
Neil enjoyed coaching Little League for many years and also played on the Vassar College Golf League. Most importantly, he loved spending his time being Grandpa for his 5 grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Deborah, Neil is survived by his 2 children, Dana Santis and her husband, Matthew; his son, Craig Marcellus and his wife, Sarah; his grandchildren, Camden, Colin, Ryland, Drew, and Emerson; his brother, Richard Marcellus, and his wife, Kathleen; his niece, Ashley, the McKenna family and close friends.
Neil was predeceased by his sister, Lynn Badami.
