Nicholas M. Capizola, a longtime resident of Hopewell Junction, and previously of Mahopac, passed suddenly on the afternoon of May 3, 2024, while surrounded by his loved ones. He was 55.

Nicholas was born on July 25, 1968, in Carmel, New York, to Nicholas and Christina (Tomasulo) Capizola. On October 10, 1993, Nicholas married the love of his life, Tina Marie, at St John's Church in Mahopac, New York. She survives at home. Nicholas is also survived by his daughter, Angela Capizola; his son, Nicholas Capizola; his daughter, Alyssa Capizola; his mother, Christina Capizola; his sister, Christine Capizola; his brother, Joseph Capizola and his wife, Jean; his sister, Theresa; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Nicholas was predeceased by his father, Nicholas A. Capizola, in 1998.

In his leisure time, Nick enjoyed baseball, coaching youth sports, fixing things, helping people, hunting, but most of all, spending time with people he loved. Nick was the first person to offer help and the last person to ask for it. He has touched the lives of many with his generosity and compassion. We would like him to be remembered for his selfless nature and love for all that surrounded him.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at 11:45am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in Wappingers Rural Cemetery.
