Nicholas Paul Coschignano, Jr., 64, of Punta Gorda, FL and formerly of Hopewell Junction and Mount Vernon, died on Friday, September 2, 2011 at the Tidewell Hospice House.
Born in Yonkers on December 21, 1946, he was the son of Nicholas Paul and Louise Katherine Augustine Coschignano. He proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and was employed as a Corrections Officer with the Westchester County Department of Corrections for 22 years until his retirement in 2008. He was a member of the Beekman Men's over 35 Hardball League Team from 1990-2004 and was on the Cardinals 1999 League Champs. Nick enjoyed hunting, shooting pool, baseball, old cars and especially time with his family.
Nick is survived by his wife, Patricia whom he married on December 18, 1989 in Hopewell Junction; his sons, Jason Coschignano and his wife Kristina of Hopewell Junction, Jared Coschignano of Hopewell Junction and David Napoliton of Lake Placid, FL; his daughters, Terry and her husband David Turpin of Punta Gorda, FL and Tracy Hale; his grandchildren, Michael and Gianna Coschignano, Cheyenne Mahoney and 4 other grandchildren; and his beloved pets, Isabella and the late Harley and Nosey.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 9 to 11 am at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Memorial Service will follow at 11am with military honors.
