Obituary

EAST FISHKILL – Nicholas J. Palumbo, 69, a resident of Hillside Lake for 39 years and formerly of the Bronx, died on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at his home.

Born in the Bronx on October 6, 1941, he was the son of Nicholas and Antoinette Donatello Palumbo. He was employed as a bus dispatcher for the MTA in the Bronx for 35 years until his retirement on September 5, 2003.

On September 4, 1965, Nicholas married Carol Ann Lynch who predeceased him on June 24, 2002. He is survived by his children, Nicholas Palumbo and his wife Michelle of Poughquag, Kimberly Palumbo and her husband Scott Soshnick of New York City and Christopher Palumbo and his fiancé Angelica Lara of Dania Beach, FL; his grandchildren, Gabriela, Nicholas and Jackson; his brother, Pasquale Palumbo of Palm Coast, FL; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Michael Palumbo.

Calling hours will be on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00a.m. at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Rd., Hopewell Junction, followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
