MIDDLETOWN – Nola D. Reiser, 82, formerly of Wappingers Falls, died on April 18, 2018 at the New Paltz Center.

Born in Marianna, Arkansas on July 28, 1935, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Bowden) Verhoeven. Nola was employed as Executive Director at Neighborhood Services Organization in Poughkeepsie until her retirement in 1979.

On October 5, 1980 in Southfields, she married Gerald Reiser who predeceased her in 2015. Nola is survived by her children, John Reiser, Misty Raucci of Middletown, and Joe Reiser and his wife Marie of Middletown; her grandchildren, Cara, Olivia, Cassie, and Derek; her great-granddaughter, Giuliana; and her brother, Arnold Verhoeven and his wife Sue of Mississippi.

Nola will be remembered as a master gardener for the Cornell Cooperative Extension. She also raised guiding eye dogs for Guiding Eyes for the Blind in Patterson. Most of all, her joy came from raising her three children, and enjoyed the time she had with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
