Norbert Emil Maahs passed away on March 7, 2025 at Hudson Valley Hospice House in Hyde Park, New York. He was 91. Norbert was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on January 18, 1934 to the late Carl and Ora (Fackler) Maahs.

Norbert was an adventurous spirit who loved to travel and explore. It started with him traveling in Mexico with his son Erik, and then they moved on to Belize and Guatemala, exploring ruins. Norbert ended up in Honduras where he actually stayed for more than a decade making new friends and family. He was a sweet man who made lots of friends wherever he went. He loved to stay busy and active, and he always had something going on. Even in his 80's, he traveled back to Honduras to help a friend out with his coffee farm!

Norbert also loved to go fishing, spend time working outside in the garden, "walking a mile" with his friends at the VA, and to just sit with a pal and "shoot the breeze" with a nice cold one in hand.

He is survived by his son Erik, his sister Maureen, brother Charles, his niece Linda and nephews Bob and David, as well as many other family and friends.
