Davila
April 4, 1931 – June 8, 2025
Norberto Davila, a Putnam County, NY resident for 40 years, formerly of Pawling, NY, Wilkes-Barre, PA, Brooklyn, NY and Puerto Rico, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025. He was 94.
Son of the late Norberto and Petronilla (Arroyo) Davila, he was born in Toa Baja, PR on April 4, 1931. While in his early 20s, Norberto moved to Brooklyn.
He worked as a foreman for Mica Products in Wingdale, NY, retiring in 1978. He loved watching baseball, and was especially an avid fan of the New York Mets. Up until his health allowed, he attended the Mission Church in Holmes, NY. More than anything else, Norberto cherished his family and was affectionately known as "Papa" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On July 24, 1953, he married Dolores Claudio in the Bronx. He was predeceased by his wife on February 18, 2013.
Survivors include two daughters: Helen Sclafani & her husband John Albert of Mahopac, NY and Grace Thomson & her husband Patrick of Torrington, CT; his grandchildren: Roseann Luongo & her husband Wade, Melissa Calabro & her husband Bernard, Craig Thomson, Dwight Thomson & his partner Lee Santspree, and Keith Thomson & his wife Amanda; his great-grandchildren: Gavin, Nolan, Benjamin, Victoria, Elizabeth, Bernard, Ella, and Liam; his sister, Maria Robles & her husband Henry; as well as several nieces, nephews, and many other loving relatives & friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Norberto was also predeceased by his siblings: Juaquina Arroyo Villalba, Candido Davila, John Davila, and Lydia Nieves Arroyo.
Calling hours will be held from 9am to 11am on Saturday, June 14 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A funeral service will begin at 11am followed by interment at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY.
