Olinda F. Davison, 87, a resident of Poughkeepsie, formerly of Hopewell Junction and Albany, died on February 12, 2012 at the Baptist Home at Brookmeade in Rhinebeck.
Few lives are filled with as much love and family as Olinda's. She was born in Mechanicville on July 2, 1924, to the late Joseph and Irene Medina Felgueroso. She shared her childhood with her younger sister, the late Anita Felgueroso.
Olinda served the public as a legal secretary for the State of New York. During that time she was courted by Louis Vincent Davison, who she referred to simply as Dave. The two were married on May 12, 1952 and began a family that is still growing today. Her husband predeceased her on May 9, 1988, but not before he told her "you will get to see our grandchildren grow up." Olinda is survived by her children: Nancy Pelesz and her husband John of Poughkeepsie, and Robert Davison and his wife Maria of Lone Tree, CO; her grandchildren Rebecca Davison-March and her husband Justin of Jamestown, Melissa Pelesz-Chan and her husband Britton of Rochester, Kimberly Zeleznik of Poughkeepsie, Sean Davison and his wife Roxanne of Denver, CO, and Teresa McCaffrey and her husband Kevin of Minneapolis, MN; and her great-grandchildren Oden Davison, Eulalia March, Aurora Chan, Livinia March, Josephine Zeleznik, and Jack McCaffrey. And, as for that growing family, Rebecca is expecting Olinda's seventh great-grandchild in June. Few are fortunate enough to see their grandchildren grow up, fewer to see their great-grandchildren. Olinda saw all of her children and grandchildren graduate college and beyond, marry, and have children of their own, a reality far beyond Dave's imagination. As she reunites with her husband in heaven, here on earth she will always be loved... yesterday, today, tomorrow, forever.
