Olive V. Buck, a resident of New Windsor since 2004, died suddenly on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh. She was 85.
She was born in Jamaica, West Indies on December 16, 1929. In 1956, she married Karl B. Buck, Sr. in Canada, and they later relocated to the Hudson Valley to raise their family. Olive dedicated her career to health care, and served as a nurse for the New York State Department of Corrections, having worked at Fishkill and Sing-Sing Correctional Facilities.
She is survived by her husband, Karl B Buck, Sr. at home. Additional survivors include her three sons, Karl B. Buck, Jr. of the Bronx, Kevin A. Buck & his wife Gina of Spring Valley, and Kurt L. Buck, Sr. of Fishkill; her grandchildren, Danielle Buck, Taylor Joy Buck, Kurt L. Buck, Jr., and Kristopher L. Buck; and her great-granddaughter, Alani.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 22 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Funeral Service will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 23 at Christ United Methodist Church, 60 Union St., Beacon. Rev. Dr. Johnny Ceasar will officiate. Interment will follow in the Community Mausoleum at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
