Obituary

Orrin John Ray, of East Fishkill and formerly Peekskill, died at the New York State Veterans' Home at Montrose on Saturday, October 27, 2012. He was 78.
Son of the late Orrin U. and C. Abigail Loechner Ray, he was born in Croton-on-Hudson on February 25, 1934. After graduating from High School, Orrin enlisted in the United States Navy in 1952, served during the Korean Conflict, and was honorably discharged in 1956.
For 39 ½ years, he worked as a Lineman for Con-Edison in Buchanan until his retirement.
Survivors include his son, Glenn Ray & his wife Joan of Kentucky; daughter, Robin Goodfriend of Louisiana; daughter, Kathy Ray of Peekskill; daughter, Rachel Ray & her husband Lewis Brown of Beacon; daughter, Amy Hamilton & her husband Cory of North Carolina; grandchildren, Kristin, Justin & Katelin Goodfriend, Ryan Ray, Noelle Brown, Orrin & Garrett See and Riley & Rachel Hamilton; his great-grandson, Sage Anthony; and many other loving relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Mary.
Orrin was a beloved man who had an impact on everyone with whom he came in contact. He was known by many as a caring and generous person, the kindest man you could ever meet. He will be sorrowfully missed, but lovingly remembered.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, November 1st at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 2nd at the Funeral Home. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Croton-on-Hudson.
