WAPPINGERS FALLS – Ourania Costalas, 89, died on December 21, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Gythion, Greece on April 17, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Dimitris and Martha (Karaxanidis) Mixalarogiannis. On June 28, 1963 in the Bronx, Ourania married Peter Costalas who predeceased her on September 27, 2002.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Esposito of Wappingers Falls and Martha Russian and her husband Andy of Highland Falls; her grandchildren, Demetra Russian, Andrew Russian, Alexander Esposito, Constandino Esposito, and Peter Esposito; and her sibling, Menelaus of Greece. In addition to her parents and husband, Ourania was predeceased by her son-in-law, Tony Esposito and her siblings, Giorgos, Giannis, and Zafero.
Ourania enjoyed watching Greek TV shows. More than anything, she loved her family especially her grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 27th at 10 am at Zoodohos Peghe Greek Orthodox Church, 3573 Bruckner Blvd., Bronx, NY 10461 followed by burial at Mount Hope Cemetery in Hastings-on-Hudson.
