Owen Francis Mulvey, 5, a lifelong resident of Hopewell Junction, died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Westchester Medical Center.
Born in Valhalla on December 6, 2006, he was the beloved son of Francis Mulvey and Anne Marie O'Brien. Owen attended the Ark & Dove Preschool and was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction. He was a brave little boy who loved playing and singing with his brother and sister, and having his sister tell him stories. He loved cows, trains, car trips, making jokes, Thomas the Tank, Toy Story and riding with his Grandpa and Granny. His smile lit up the room, and he was full of happiness and joy.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, James; his sister, Catherine; his grandparents, Frank and Patsy Mulvey, William and Mary O'Brien; his aunts and uncles, Mary and Rob Potter, Thomas and Liz Mulvey, Liam and Rachel O'Brien, Gerry O'Brien and Abigail Simpson, and Patricia O'Brien; his cousins, Mary Potter, Melissa and Conor O'Brien; his grand aunt, Ann Mulvey; and a multitude of great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 2-5pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
