Pasquale Gabriele, a longtime resident of Yonkers, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 in Fishkill, NY. He was 82.

Son of the late Eugenio and Maria (Valente) Gabriele, he was born in Rogliano, Calabria, Italy on September 1, 1942. At the age of 10, he and his family emigrated to the United States, where they settled in New York City prior to relocating to Yonkers, NY. Even as a child, he took on the significant responsibility of taking care of his parents and siblings.

Pasquale was a mechanic for more than 50 years. He proudly built his own home and business, Yonkers Central Service, by constructing a mechanic shop on an empty lot he purchased on Walburton Avenue. He previously owned a Mister Softee ice cream truck.

Patsy was an avid sports fan, but he especially had a lifelong passion for soccer as not only a player, but also as a licensed referee. He was widely respected in the soccer community for his refereeing skills, of which he dedicated many years to the game.

His green thumb did not go unnoticed, as he took great pride in his garden, especially his tomatoes and basil. He was also adept at winemaking and jarring olives. Patsy was a great cook and frequently hosted family & friends for meals, especially his "Sunday morning pancakes".

Pasquale will be remembered for his spirit of strength. Regardless of any adversity or illness, he remained strong and fought until the last moment. He even cooked one last batch of pancakes just two days before his passing. He was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his children and their spouses: Maria DellaMedaglia (Dominick) of Hopewell Junction, Cassandra DeMarco (Antonello) of Fishkill, and Pasquale Gabriele, Jr. (Alexis) of Mahopac; his grandchildren: Victoria, Dominick Jr., Pietro, Milania, Pasquale III, and Giovanni; his brothers and their wives, Nino Gabriele (Rita) and Tony Gabriele (Patricia); as well as many nieces, nephews, and many other loving family members.

He is also survived by the love of his life and mother of his children, Francesca Gabriele.

Calling hours will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 21 at McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 22 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, NY.
