Obituary

Patricia Styles Egerton, 90, a former resident of Clinton Corners and Mohegan Lake, NY, passed away after more than a 6 year battle with Lewy body dementia at Epic Healthcare and Nursing, White Plains, NY on May, 16, 2022.

Patricia was born February 7, 1932 in Poughkeepsie, NY to James R. Styles and Anne Erskine Styles. On August 26, 1951 she married Elwood (Eggie) F. Egerton at St. James Church in Hyde Park, NY. She is survived by her son E. James (Joan) of Hot Springs, SD and Palm Desert, CA; her daughters Patricia of Cheyenne, WY; Mary of Yorktown Heights, NY and Versailles, KY; and Dorothy Kennedy (Jack) of Highland, NY. She is also survived by her granddaughter Victoria Egerton of Versailles, Kentucky and her grandson Gareth Phillips of Felixstowe, Great Britain. She was predeceased by her husband in 2013, her parents, and brothers Alton, Robert, Roland (Herb) and Lawrence.

Patricia grew up on the family dairy farm in Salt Point, NY. She was a 1950 graduate of Franklin D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park, NY. She worked as a telephone operator before she had children. She dedicated her entire adult life to her husband, children and grandchildren. Patricia was a fantastic cook and baker as well as a gifted knitter, seamstress and quilter who loved to make things for her family and friends. She possessed a green thumb for growing beautiful house plants as well as flower and vegetable gardens. She had a lifelong love of all animals, especially cats – at one time she had more than 20 "outside" cats.

Patricia's family would like to thank the entire staff at Epic Healthcare and at Salem Hills Rehabilitation in Purdys, NY for the loving care they gave their Mom and Nana, and for being her family when she no longer knew her own.

Burial was private for Patricia and her husband, Eggie at Friend's Upton Lake Cemetery in Clinton Corners. Arrangements are under the direction of the McHoul Funeral Home. Please visit her Book of Memories at www.mchoulfuneralhome.com.
