Patricia A. Fairchild, 76, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1976 and previously of Manhattan, died on February 9. 2024 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Patricia, known to her dear family and friends as Pat, was born on July 13, 1947 in the Bronx to the late Thomas and Katherine (Eichmann) Goff. Pat graduated high school and immediately began work with New York Telephone in Manhattan. She met the love of her life, Michael Fairchild, and the two were married on June 7, 1975, at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church in Manhattan. Michael survives at home.

In addition to her husband, Pat is also survived by her son, Michael Fairchild; her daughter, Katherine Pidanick and her husband, Jeffrey; her grandchildren, Patricia, Charles, and Annmarie; and many loving family members including cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Pat kept busy with her involvement in the community as a parishioner at St Columba Church, a life member of Hopewell Hose Company #1 where she served as their chaplain for many years, a lifetime member of the DCPA, and a participant in the Fighting 69th Ladies Auxiliary.

Her true passion was her family. She was a fantastic wife, mother, and grandmother. Patrcia loved to crochet, get lost in a murder mystery book, especially Agatha Christie and watch a good "who done it?" on Investigate Discovery TV.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 6pm to 9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc. 895 Route 82 Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 10am at St Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Burial will follow at St. Denis Cemetery. Please help celebrate Patricia by wearing red, white, or blue to the services.
