Patricia Ann Kelly Gilligan, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. She was 88.

She was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on October 31, 1936, where she lived until 1957. In that year, she began her career with Eastern Airlines as a Stewardess, which allowed her to travel extensively while being based in both New York City and Miami. She married Vincent Gilligan in 1961; following a brief period in Syracuse, NY, they relocated to Fishkill, NY, in 1963. Fishkill became her permanent residence, and she remained a valued member of the community for over six decades.

Patricia was a successful businesswoman in the Hudson Valley. In 1972, she broke new ground by becoming the first woman to independently secure a mortgage from Fishkill National Bank. This accomplishment marked a significant milestone in an era when such achievements were rare for women. Patricia was an accomplished Realtor, beginning a successful career in real estate that naturally evolved into property development and subdivision planning, start to finish. In addition to development work, Patricia owned several apartment buildings and managed various properties, including owning and seasonally renting 3 cottages on Cape Cod, showcasing her expertise in property management. Her entrepreneurial spirit extended beyond real estate, as she also owned retail stores located in Westchester County, Fishkill, and Wappingers Falls. In her later years, she enjoyed being an Au Pair coordinator, facilitating relationships between international students and host families. Patricia consistently sought meaningful relationships and ways to enrich other people's lives.

As an avid gardener, Patricia took great pride in her yard, especially her beautiful hydrangeas and rhododendrons. Patricia was known for the special care she devoted to every detail, whether it was thoughtfully wrapping a gift or decorating her home for the holidays. Her attention to these small gestures brought joy and warmth not only to her family but also to her friends and all who entered her home. Through her loving actions, she created a welcoming atmosphere that reflected her generous spirit and made every occasion feel extra special. Above all, Patricia, aka "LOO" cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her family was the center of her world.

Patricia is survived by daughter Kerrie Gilligan Jordan (husband Edward) of Eastham, Cape Cod, MA, daughter Kelly Guest (husband Monty) of Solon, OH, and son Sean Gilligan (wife Catherine) of Fishkill. She is also survived by her four wonderful grandchildren: Chelsea Ehrmantrout (husband DJ) of Hudson, OH, Ryan Guest of Atlanta, GA, Sioban Sedney (husband Ian) of Fishkill, and Shannon Davidson (husband Eliot) of Fishkill. She was so happy to have two great-grandchildren, Louisa Ehramtrout and Jett Davidson. She is also survived by many other relatives & friends.

In addition to her husband, Vincent J. Gilligan, who predeceased her in 1971, Patricia was also predeceased by her mother, Gwendolyn Stecco, in 1995, father, Michael Stecco, in 1997, and brother, Paul Kelly in 2019. She is also survived by her sister Marion Demming of Olyphant, PA.

Services will be held privately, with entombment at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY.
