Patricia Ellen McGann, a cherished member of the Dutchess County community since 1971 and formerly of the Bronx, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2024 after a long illness with Scleroderma. She was 81 years old.

Born in the Bronx on March 16, 1943, Patricia was the beloved daughter of Andrew and Ellen (McGowan) Scovin. She graduated from Cathedral High School. On January 16, 1965, Patricia married the love of her life, Joseph C. McGann, at Our Lady of Refuge Church in the Bronx. Together, they shared 59 years of love, companionship, and devotion.

Patricia will be remembered for her deep faith and her commitment to her church community. As a dedicated parishioner of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, she attended daily Mass and was actively involved in the church's prayer chain. Her unwavering Catholic faith was a guiding light throughout her life.

Patricia's love for her family and friends was evident in all she did. Known for her generous spirit, Patricia always made others feel welcome and valued. Her compassion extended to animals; she adored her pets.

She found joy in life's simple pleasures, including watching movies and television, particularly those on the Hallmark Channel. Patricia was also known for her thoughtful gestures, never missing an opportunity to send a birthday, holiday, or greeting card to her loved ones.

Above all, Patricia was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who cherished her family deeply. Despite facing health challenges, she remained steadfast in her faith, love, and joy, setting an inspiring example for all who knew her.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband, Joseph, of Beacon, NY. She is also survived by her children, Ellen Maguire & her husband Rory of Patterson, NY; Debra Colandrea & her husband Mark "Chris" of Fishkill, NY; Joseph McGann & his wife Lisa of Lagrangeville, NY; and Andrew McGann & his wife Maria of Villanova, PA. She leaves behind her beautiful grandchildren: Meghan Maguire, Ciara Maguire, Danielle Colandrea, Connor Colandrea, Joseph McGann, Jr., Grace McGann, Andrew McGann, and Ariana McGann. Patricia also leaves behind her brother, James Scovin, and his wife Bernadette, along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She was preceded by her beloved grandson, Brendan Maguire, in 2018 as well as her siblings, Michael Scovin and Maureen Murphy.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., located at 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28 at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, Lagrangeville, NY. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 West Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY.
