STORMVILLE - Patricia A. Powers, 65, a lifelong area resident, passed away at home on October 18, 2023.

She is survived by her husband, Edward M. Powers at home; her son, Skylar Powers of Stormville; her daughter, Andalee Cunningham and her husband Christoper of Stormville; her parents, Andrew and Barbara (Curran) McPeck, Sr; her siblings, Andrew J. McPeck, Jr. and his wife Pietrina, Allen McPeck, Aaron McPeck and his wife Jennifer, Mary Moran and her husband Kevin, Kelly Murphy and her husband William, Therese Cox and her husband Buddy, and Boey Clum and her husband Jeffrey; her beloved 4-legged companion, Ghost; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Patty will be remembered as a dog loving, piano playing, Sea-Doo riding wife and mother who was adored by anyone who was fortunate enough to cross paths with her. She dedicated her life to others - serving as a nurse for 22 years, the majority of which she was a labor and delivery nurse. Her cause to help others never ceased; when she retired she joined Puppies Behind Bars, an organization that trains incarcerated individuals to raise service dogs for wounded war veterans. Patty commanded a room, her smile brought joy, her laugh was contagious, and her love was felt by all who encountered her.

Patty is known for her hugs, her empathy, her nicknames, and her love of music. But most of all, her unbelievable ability to be there for those who needed it most.

Patty was born in Poughkeepsie on She was employed at IBM in Poughkeepsie for over 10 years. She graduated from Dutchess Community College with an associate degree in nursing, and was employed as a Registered Nurse at Vassar Brothers Medical Center for over 20 years until her retirement.

Patty was predeceased by her sister, Tracy Ann McPeck; and her sister-in-law, Linda Powers-Schmidt.

Calling hours will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 1 – 5 pm with a service beginning at 4:30 pm.
