UNION VALE – Patricia E. Rutledge, 68, an area resident since 1995, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on February 26, 2024. She previously lived in Brewster.

Born in Mount Kisco on June 22, 1955, Patricia was the daughter of the late Robert and Corinne (Bruen) Smith. She volunteered as an EMT for the Union Vale Fire Department, and more recently was employed as a Medical Technician for Premier Medical Group in Poughkeepsie.

Patricia enjoyed traveling with her husband and playing cards. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
On September 30, 1978 in Brewster, Patricia married Robert E. Rutledge who survives at home after 45 years of marriage. She is also survived by her children and their spouses, Matthew and Linda Rutledge of Ballston Spa, Jeffrey and Jessica Rutledge of Fishkill, and Katie and Bryan Zittel of Union Vale; her grandchildren who affectionately called her "Bema", Kaylee Rutledge, Stella Rutledge, Paige Zittel, and Jack Rutledge; her siblings, Thomas Smith and his wife Linda and Corinne Smith; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was also predeceased by her sister, Harriet Furnia.

Calling hours will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction on Friday, March 1st from 11 am – 2pm with a funeral service at 2pm.
