BEACON – Patricia Ann Scofield, 85, a lifelong area resident, died peacefully on March 18, 2022 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Beacon on March 27, 1936, Patricia was the daughter of the late Franklin and Genevieve (Martin) Cism. She had been employed as the Deputy Town Clerk for the Town of Fishkill for many years before working as the secretary to the City of Beacon Police Chief and Detective Bureau.
Patricia had been a parishioner at St. Mary, Mother of the Church where she worked as the CCD secretary. An avid reader, she also enjoyed crocheting and taking camping trips to Maine.
On May 30, 1954 at St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction, she married Kenneth Scofield. Her husband of almost 68 years survives at home. She is also survived by her children, Deborah Scofield and her fiancé Todd Votz of the Village of Fishkill and Kevin Scofield of Fishkill; her grandchildren, Jason and Chrissy Fisch and Jack and Faye Fisch; her great-grandchildren, Michael, Naomi, Nathan, Mackenzie, Riley and Kinsley ; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was also predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Scofield; and her siblings, Barbara Karaffa, Joan Wheeler, and Frank Cism, Jr.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday at 10 am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill followed by burial at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
