Patricia Ann Short, 72, a resident of Wappingers Falls, died on October 25, 2016 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She previously lived in Fishkill and Roebling, NJ.

Born in Shamokin, PA on June 20, 1944, she was the daughter of the late George and Rose (Nemsick) Hand. On June 14, 1969 in Shamokin, PA, Patricia married Thomas Short who survives at home.

She had been employed as a teacher at 1st Step Preschool in Beacon until her retirement in 2006. Patricia had been a member of the Zenska Jednota in Shamokin, PA and was currently a parishioner at St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction.

In addition to her husband of 47 years, Patricia is survived by her sons, Christopher Short of Highland, Timothy Short and his wife Dawn of Hopewell Junction, and Stephen Short and his wife Heidi Kullmann of Poughkeepsie; and her grandchildren, Timothy, Ian, and Isabella Short, Kyleigh and Connor Short, and Zachary Mesuda.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 9:00 – 11 a.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
