Paul F. Manglass, a lifelong local area resident, died on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh. He was 67.
Son of the late Aurelio and Jessie (Maddox) Manglass, he was born in Newburgh on February 8, 1947.
Paul was a hard worker and started his long career in construction with his father-in-law's business, Toennigs Construction in Beacon. In 2012, he retired as an operating engineer for the Local 137 I.U.O.E., where he had worked for the last 13 years.
He was a lifelong skier, avid reader, and loved boating.
On April 11, 1962, he married Maggie Toennigs at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Poughkeepsie. Maggie survives at home in Beacon.
Paul is also survived by his son, Todd Manglass, along with his two daughters, Sophia & Madeleine Manglass of Wakefield, RI; his daughter, Nicole Manglass & her partner Paul Polletta of Poughkeepsie; his sister, Linda Manglass, along with her sons Joseph & Alex Shapiro of Washington, DC; his sister, Joyce Fekkak along with her daughter, Lena of Rockville, MD; and his father-in-law, William C. Toennigs of Beacon.
Calling hours will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Monday, January 26 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27.
