Obituary

HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Paul Parks, 88, passed away at home on April 20, 2022 surrounded by his family.

Born in Trinidad on November 18th, 1933, Paul was the son of the late Arnold and Marie Park. Paul was employed as a police officer in Trinidad and Tobago before moving to the United States. While living in the US, he was an interior decorator, specializing in upholstery. Paul was a life member and Past President of the Trinidad and Tobago Retired Police Association.

On November 15, 1959 in Trinidad, Paul married Gurlaine (Thomas) Parks who survives at home after 62 years of marriage. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Cynthia and Lloyd Bruce of Trinidad, Trevor Parks MD and his wife Yohntis, of Douglasville, GA, Lisa and Webster Plummer of Hopewell Junction, and Merleen Quammie-Martin of Queens, NY; his grandchildren, Justin, Kareem, deceased Cory, Alisha, Mali, Kenya, Nahdia, David, Isaac, and Patrick. His great grandchildren, Julian, Desmond and Camille. His extended family includes nieces and nephews, his sister-in-law Rose Park, in-laws the Roberts. Cousins Linda Gittens, Tyrone Ortiz and family, the Greene and Powell families, longtime neighbors and friends, Gloria Jack, the Harvey family, Mary Etienne, Audrey Philbert and Petronella Hunt. Paul was predeceased by his brothers; Lenny, Leon, Harold and Felix.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday April 27th from 2 – 4 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by a funeral service at 4 pm.
