Obituary

Paul E. Robitaille, 97, passed away at home in Fishkill, NY on May 2, 2026, with the support of HV hospice. Born in New Bedford, MA, Paul was the son of Hector and Claudia Dextraze Robitaille, and French was his first language.

Paul and his twin brother, Raymond, began their service together in the Naval Reserves. He later served in the U.S. Army with the 577th Engineer Battalion at Fort Benning, GA. After his military service, Paul earned degrees in Industrial Engineering and an MBA.

He worked as an engineer for Raytheon Corp. before joining IBM and relocating to New York. At IBM East Fishkill, Paul held leadership roles in Equipment Services, Facilities Operations and Maintenance, and Security for the GTD division.

Our Dad was a gentleman with integrity. He was honest and caring and lived life simply. He was a brave Dad too! Skydiving at 88 and 90 years fundraising for his differently abled son, Peter and the agency supporting him.

Paul credited his longevity to staying active-he was an avid reader, a devoted walker, and a senior exercise class enthusiast.

Paul was also a testament to finding true love later in life. He was welcomed and much loved by his step family. He had meaningful relationships with his adult step children and their families. Oh, how he and May loved their time spent with the grandkids!

Paul is survived by his son Dana (Marie) Robitaille; his daughter Paula Robitaille (Brian Marcinkowski); and his grandsons Nicholas (Kelly) Robitaille, Luis Robitaille (fiancée Amy), Scott Marcinkowski, and Gregg Marcinkowski. He leaves behind his precious great‑granddaughters, Remi and Teagan.

He is also survived by his stepdaughters Linda Peltier and Shelley (Tony) Piccone; step‑grandchildren Nino (Laura) Piccone, Heather (Mike) Sannicandro, Nick Piccone (Jessica), Bonnie Peltier (Wade), Jennifer (Rob) Brewer, Monique Peltier (Mike), Michael (Pamela) Harris, Brendan (Shannon) Harris, and Rick Harris; and seventeen step great‑grandchildren.

Paul was predeceased by his brothers Louis, Wilfred, Leo, Hector, and Raymond; his sister Beatrice; the mother of his children, Barbara Sherman; his beloved wife, May Robitaille; his sons Philip and Peter Robitaille; and his stepson and step‑grandson, Richard, Jr. and Joshua Harris.

In keeping with his wishes, a private service has taken place. Paul is laid to rest beside his wife May in the Wortman Mausoleum at the Fishkill Rural Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of McHoul Funeral Home, 1089 Main Street Fishkill, NY 12524.

In Paul's honor, please consider a memorial donation to Greystone Programs, Inc. , the nonprofit agency that provided Paul's son, Peter, with a safe, loving, and dignified home for nearly forty years. Donations may be made at greystoneprograms.org .
