Obituary

EAST FISHKILL – Paul F. Weimann, 75, an area resident since 1974, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He previously lived in the Bronx.

Born in the Bronx on January 22, 1940, he was the son of the late Frank and Anna (Schue) Weimann. Paul proudly served in the US Marines from 1962-1968. He had been employed as a Correctional Officer at Downstate, Mattewan, and Fishkill Correctional Facilities for over 28 years until his retirement in 1997. He had also worked part-time for the East Fishkill Police Department.

Paul was a parishioner at St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction. He was a member of the American Pool Player Association, St. Mary's Council #4065 Knights of Columbus, and Carmen Ramputi Detachment 861 in Beacon. An avid pool player, Paul also liked golfing, gardening, fishing, hunting, tinkering with his fish aquariums, and collecting sports memorabilia. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them outdoors.

On May 23, 1964 at St. Teresa Church in Woodside, Paul married Eileen Rose McGuckin Weimann who survives at home. In addition to his loving wife of 51 years, Paul is also survived by his children, Maryann Federico and her partner Michael Skerritt of Wappingers Falls, Paul F. Weimann Jr. of East Fishkill, Karen Weimann-Morris of Atlanta, GA, Michael Weimann and his wife Erin of Poughkeepsie, and Susan Weimann of Fort Lauderdale, FL; his grandchildren, Ryan, Christopher, Brittaney, Kyle, and Grace; and his brother, Robert Weimann of the Bronx; and his stepbrother, Ernie Mohlmann of East Northport, LI.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 11 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery with military honors.
