Peggy Jo Ladue-Maguire, a resident of Delmar, NY, died peacefully after a brief battle with lung cancer on December 11, 2024 at Hudson Valley Hospice House in Hyde Park, surrounded by family.
Born Peggy Jo Maddock in Yonkers on December 15, 1967, she was the youngest of five daughters born to Richard and Patricia Rohme Maddock. The family lived in Harrison before moving to Poughkeepsie, where Peggy Jo attended Our Lady of Lourdes High School and graduated from Arlington High School.
Peggy Jo was previously employed at New York State Office of Mental Health in Albany. She found great enjoyment in craft projects (including sewing, quilting, jewelry making, woodworking, and furniture restoration); indoor gardening her jungle of potted plants; and caring for all animals, but most especially dogs. She was known and loved for her keen sense of humor and her profound sense of empathy. She will be deeply missed.
Peggy Jo was predeceased by her parents Patricia and Richard; her sister Mary Lee Maddock; her nephew Patrick Mulcahy III; her niece Alexandra Maddock; and her beloved Yorkshire Terriers Bailey and Joey.
She is survived by her husband Paul Maguire of Delmar; her son Michael (Zachary Woelfel) Ladue of Stamford, CT; her stepdaughter Kathleen (Brian) Rourke of Saratoga; her step-grandchildren Liam and Maeve Rourke; her sisters Victoria Maddock of Saugerties, Treacy (Chris) Bob of Highland, and Melissa Maddock of Hyde Park; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will take place on Monday, December 16th from 8am - 10am at McHoul Funeral Home (895 NY-82, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533). A Catholic funeral mass will follow at 10:30am at St. Martin De Porres Parish (118 Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603). Services will conclude following the mass with an inurnment at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery (342 South Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601).
