HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Peter Christie, 82, of Hopewell Junction for the past 7 years and formerly of Ossining and Yonkers, died on Friday, December 2, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in the Bronx on February 28, 1929, he was the son of the late Stephen and Bessie Jordan Christie. On October 21, 1949, he married Irene Scheer in Manhattan. Mrs. Christie survives at home.

He was employed as a Sales Manager for Ward Baking Co., Drakes, and Nestles. Peter was an avid golfer and a dedicated NY Giants fan.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Peter Christie of Pleasantville, Joanne Zaffuto of Hopewell Junction, and Dianne Aquilino and her husband Steven of Wappingers Falls; his grandchildren, Kaitlin Christie, Courtney Christie, Peter Zaffuto, Matthew Aquilino, and Joseph Aquilino; and many nieces and nephews. Peter was predeceased by his siblings, Marion Christie, Lorraine Chumas, and Chris Christie.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday at XX:00 am at the funeral home followed by interment at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
