Obituary

During the early morning hours of May 1st, 2025, the illness and addiction that had long dimmed the bright light in Peter Lindenfeld's eyes finally took him from this world. Though he struggled, it does not define the radiant, loving soul that Peter was- and always will be to those who knew him. Born on June 27th, 1990, in Danbury, Connecticut, to Charles Lindenfeld who survives at his home in Pleasant Valley and Denise Watson who survives at her home in Stormville. Peter grew up surrounded by family and friends in Dutchess County until the disease of addiction brought him to Florida in recent years.

Peter was a vibrant force from the start. At John Jay High School, he shined on the soccer field-fast, fearless, and full of fire. But his gifts extended beyond the field. Peter was endlessly curious and deeply intelligent, though the conventional classroom could never quite capture the way his mind worked. He loved to work with his hands and "tinker" with small motors and electronics.

Peter lived life with boldness. He had a wild streak that made every moment with him an adventure. He lit up every room he entered with a larger-than-life personality. He loved hard, with a fierce loyalty that never wavered. He would make friends with anyone he met, and would give everything he had to someone in need-even when he had very little to give.

Despite the pain he carried, Peter's capacity for love never diminished. He had a deeply special bond with his sister, Katie Stroud, who survives him at her home in Stormville with her husband, Adam. Peter is also survived by his younger brother, Kyle Lindenfeld of Stormville, nephews Colin and Ethan Stroud, niece Emilia Stroud, many aunts, uncles, and cousins who cherished him deeply and will feel his immense loss.

Peter's journey was not always easy, but he was never alone. Through the darkest days, his family and friends held onto him with love that never faltered. If love alone could have saved him, he would still be here.

The memory of his bright smile, quick wit, and sunny disposition will never be forgotten. We will carry the warmth of his light with us always. Though our hearts are shattered, and the emptiness of his absence feels unbearable, we are grateful to have known and loved Peter. And we will never stop loving him.

A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday May 31st, 2025 at the McHoul Funeral Home, 895 Route 82 Hopewell Junction from 1-4pm. A memorial service will be said at 3:30pm.
