Peter G McFadden of LaGrangeville, NY passed on Friday July 14, 2023 at the age of 63, peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a long and brave battle with brain cancer.
Peter was born on May 1, 1960 in Yonkers NY, was raised in Yorktown Heights before moving to New Rochelle and eventually settled in LaGrangeville to personally build his home in LaGrangeville, NY. Peter is predeceased by his parents John W. McFadden and Mary Jane Brown McFadden. He was also predeceased by his brother Steven.
Peter is survived by his wife of 40 years Marianne Sherman McFadden who were married on November 5, 1983 after meeting at the age of 18 in 1978. Peter is also survived by his two loving sons Peter J and his wife Kimber of Pleasant Valley, and son John S. and wife Alyssa of LaGrangeville. Peter was a loving proud poppa to Kaylee, Emma and John. Peter was one of six children and is survived by John T. McFadden, Jane Pagnanella, Mary Ellen Jamison and Kathleen Shute. Peter is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Peter was a talented custom carpenter and builder. He began his career as a carpenter on staff at Iona College in New Rochelle, NY. In years following he started his own business PGM Custom Design and then started a business with his cousin Michael Martinetto forming McMar Construction Inc. Before getting sick Peter was the bulk yard foreman at Adams Landscaping. Peter took pride in his work and will be remembered by many landscapers for keeping the yard neat and orderly.
Peter loved to travel with his wife and kids when they were younger, going on camping trips around the country. Peter's greatest pleasure in life was his three grandchildren, watching them play, having fun and teaching them everything he knows.
Calling hours will be Thursday July 20, 2023 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY with funeral services on Friday July 21, 2023 at 10am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville, NY. Peter will be laid to rest at St. Peter's Cemetery in Poughkeepsie, NY.
