Philip Stazzone, a resident of Fishkill since 2013, formerly of Valley Stream and Elmont, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, following a courageous battle with ALS. He was 70.

Son of the late Michael and Carmella (Difilippo) Stazzone, he was born in Manhattan on October 15, 1955 and was raised in Elmont on Long Island. For more than 35 years, he worked as a Draftsman for the Town of Hempstead, retiring in 2011. He was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill.

Phil was an avid outdoorsman who found great joy in hobbies such as biking, canoeing, and hiking. In 1995, he and his wife fulfilled his father's dream, by building a cabin in Thurman, NY. This began one of the greatest legacies their family has experienced. He cherished every moment while at the cabin with family and friends. Phil also enjoyed a good cigar and watching the Mets. Above all, he was a true family man who treasured Sunday dinners and every opportunity to spend time with those he loved. On April 15, 1978, he married Felicia Ricotta in Elmont. Felicia survives at home in Fishkill.

Additional survivors include his son, Mike Stazzone & his wife Mia of Cortlandt Manor; his daughter, Angela Stazzone of Cortlandt Manor; his son, Daniel Stazzone of Syracuse; his grandchildren: Sophia, Nicholas, Gregory, Christopher, Jacob, Cody, and Jachari; his great-granddaughter, Beverly; his siblings, Joseph Stazzone & his wife Irene of VA and Camille Fegeley & her husband Chris of NJ; his father-in-law, Thomas Ricotta of Glen Head; his siblings-in-law, JoAnne Finn & her husband Robert of Hauppauge and Teresa Silversmith & her husband Michael of Fort Salonga; in addition to many nieces, nephews, and many other loving family members.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents as well as his mother-in-law, Lucia Ricotta.

Calling hours will be held from 2:00pm to 5:00pm on Sunday, June 14 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00am on Monday, June 15 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, NY.
