Fishkill - Phyllis Alexander, a resident of Fishkill, NY since 1980 passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was 70 years old.

Phyllis was born on January 26, 1955, in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Enrico and Clementina (Grimaldi) Pierno.

On September 13, 1980, Phyllis married the love of her life, Frank Alexander Jr. at St. Johns the Evangelist Church in Mahopac, NY. He survives at home.

They moved to Fishkill, NY to start a beautiful life together, that brought them two loving children whom she adored.

In addition to raising her family and taking care of her home, Phyllis worked for several years with the Beacon City School District as a one-on-one Aide. She also worked for Pepsico as an administrator and taught C.C.D at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, in Fishkill, NY.

Phyllis loved to read, especially annotating religious books. She enjoyed the little things in life, lived in the moment, and was a loving, compassionate, selfless, faithful, and graceful woman. More than anything, she loved being with her family who meant the world to her. She loved to tell them stories of their childhood and hers. Phyllis always said, "It's not the unpleasant circumstances . . . but our attitude that makes a huge difference."

In addition to her husband Frank Alexander Jr., she is survived by her two loving children: her daughter, Renee Lynn Alexander and her fiancé Mike Barone, and her son, Frank Alexander III and his fiancé Kelsey Tanamor. She is also survived by her brother, Thomas Pierno.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025 from 4 - 8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 10:00 am at the funeral home followed by entombment at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 100 Mill Street, Putnam Valley, NY.
