WAPPINGERS FALLS - Phyllis Baskin, a resident of Wappingers Falls, NY since 1979 and previously from Loganton, PA, died peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2025. She was 67.

Phyllis was born on September 29, 1957 in Lock Haven, PA to the late Harry and Ruth (Martin) Smith. She was Valedictorian of Sugar Valley High School, Class of 1975. She graduated from Penn State University in 1979 with a BS in Engineering Science/Solid State Science and Technology. She was a 1982 graduate of Syracuse University where she earned her Master's in Solid State Science & Technology and Electrical Engineering. Phyllis had a 39-year long career with IBM through various Engineering Manager positions, building lifelong friendships with many of her coworkers. In her spare time, Phyllis liked walking, playing games, following politics, shopping, and traveling. However, more than anything she loved spending time with her husband and children.

On July 6, 1986, she married Carl Alan Baskin at Dutchess Manor in Beacon, NY. Carl predeceased her on September 8, 2013.

Phyllis is survived by her children, David Baskin, and his wife, Courtney Clark of Wappingers Falls, NY, Steven Baskin and his wife, Jenna Byers of Media, PA and Dawn Baskin of Sebastapol, CA; her granddaughter, Lily Baskin of Wappingers Falls; and her brothers, Dennis Smith of Allentown, PA and Ronald Smith and his wife, Sheila, of Allentown, PA.

In addition to her parents and husband, Phyllis was predeceased by her brother, Bruce Lee Smith.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 11 am - 1 pm, with a service at 1 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. Burial will immediately follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
