Obituary

WAPPINGERS FALLS – Randolph Chiappa, 78, an area resident since 1975, died on July 17, 2016 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He previously lived in Tuckahoe.

Born in Bronxville on January 23, 1938, he was the son of the late Renzo and Edith (Greco) Chiappa. Randy proudly served in the US Marines. He worked as a salesman for Peerless Importers in Brooklyn until 1970. He then worked as a bartender at Peppino's Ristorante in Katonah until his retirement 5 years ago. He was a parishioner at St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction.

On October 27, 1968 at Immaculate Conception Church in Eastchester, Randy married Adrienne Libutti Chiappa who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughters, Deanna Kleinman and her husband Noel of Los Angeles, CA and Stephanie Chiappa of Cornwall; his grandchildren, Jack and Julianna Kleinman and Justin and Amanda Knapp; his siblings and their spouses, Peter and Judy Chiappa, Paul and Karen Chiappa, and Renzo Chiappa; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, George and Renee Leo; and many nieces and nephews.

Randy was a devoted husband, loving father and proud grandfather. His warm smile and affectionate nature will be missed by anyone who was lucky enough to know him.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 10 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by burial at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery with military honors.
