Raymond R. Levesque, formerly of Peekskill and North Tarrytown, NY, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026, surrounded by the love and presence of his beloved family.
Born on June 23, 1936, in North Tarrytown, New York, Raymond was the son of Joseph and Yvonne Levesque. He was predeceased by his parents; his sisters, Rita Dipillo and Ida Dubbioso; and his brother, Rev. Joseph Levesque, C.M., of the Vincentian Order.
A proud veteran, Raymond served in the United States Marine Corps from November 26, 1956, to November 26, 1959, as a Message Handler and Crypto Operator. He was honorably discharged and awarded the Good Conduct Medal in recognition of his faithful service to his country.
On May 16, 1959, Raymond married the love of his life, Frances Sidorik, at Holy Cross Church in North Tarrytown. Together they shared more than 67 years of marriage, first making their home in Tarrytown before settling in Peekskill, where they lived for more than five decades while raising their two children, Raymond and Linda. During the last four years of his life, Raymond and Frances resided with Linda and her husband, Michael in Poughquag.
Raymond devoted more than 40 years to the construction industry, beginning as a skilled carpenter before becoming a construction superintendent. He was a proud member of Carpenters Local 149 for over 50 years and was respected for his strong work ethic, craftsmanship, and dedication.
Throughout his life, Raymond found joy in hunting, fishing, and friendly games of horseshoes. After retirement, he discovered new passions in cooking and gardening, taking great pride in sharing meals and tending to his garden. He also served his community as a member of the Phoenix Hose Fire Company from 1963-1968, in Tarrytown.
A man of deep Catholic faith, Raymond attended daily Mass whenever possible. While living in Peekskill, he was a devoted parishioner of Church of the Assumption, where he participated in the Cenacle Prayer Group and faithfully volunteered as a weekly collection counter. After moving to Poughquag, he attended St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction.
Above all else, Raymond cherished his faith, his family, friends, and country. He lived a life marked by quiet humility, steadfast devotion, and unwavering love. His greatest happiness came from caring for those around him and spending time with the people he loved.
Raymond is survived by his beloved wife, Frances; his son, Raymond (Beth) Levesque of Ballston Spa, New York; and his daughter, Linda (Michael) Delia of Poughquag, New York. He was the proud grandfather of Silvya Levesque, Nicole Delia, Brooke (Thomas) Burke, Kristin Delia, and Michael (Michaela) Delia. He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Kaileigh Frances Delia and John Raymond Delia, and was joyfully anticipating the arrival of a third great-grandchild this September. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at McHoul Funeral Home, Hopewell Junction, New York.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 11am at Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Church in LaGrangeville, NY. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Cortlandt Manor, New York.
