Raymond G. Merritt, 95, a lifelong area resident, died peacefully on November 14, 2025 at Hudson Valley Hospice House.

Born in Poughkeepsie on July 24, 1930, he was the son of the late Herbert and Alice (Ulbrandt) Merritt.

Raymond was a delivery driver for Freihofer's Bakery. He enjoyed music including Frank Sinatra and banjo bands, dancing, traveling and painting.

Raymond is survived by his son, Mark Merritt; his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Douglas Lagno; his brother, Herbert Merritt, Jr.; his grandson, Kenneth Merritt, his wife Ashley Merritt, and their daughter, Kaylee; his grandson, Brian Merritt, his wife Bailey and their sons, Griffin and Ian. He was predeceased by his wife, Sonja (Gierloff) Merritt; his daughter-in-law, Donna Merritt; and his significant other, Vera Kennedy.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 11am-12pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. There will be a funeral service at 12pm followed by interment in LaGrangeville Cemetery.
