WAPPINGERS FALLS - Raymond B. Moore, 86, a lifelong resident of Wappingers Falls and Cold Spring, died on December 11, 2025 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh.
Born on November 3, 1939 in Hempstead , Long Island, Ray was the son of the late James and Elizabeth (Burns) Moore. He grew up on a local farm before beginning a career as a truck driver for companies including Agway, Montfort Brothers, Package Pavement, and Allen Coal before opening his own company, Moore Cement, in Cold Spring, which he operated for over 40 years until his retirement.
Raymond was a founding father of the North Highlands Fire Department. He was a member of the Cold Spring/South Highland United Methodist Church where he was a former trustee.
On July 29, 1992 in Myrtle Beach, SC, Ray married Barbara (Lyons) Moore who survives at home. He is also survived by his children, Cynthia "Cindy", Michael, Elizabeth "Beth", Jennifer, and Rae Marie; his stepsons, Richard and Robert Johnson; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his step-grandchildren, Zoe, Zachary, Mikila, Bailey, Sierra, and Ryan; his sister-in-law, Beverley Hotaling; and brothers-in-law, Nathan and Ernie Lyons.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 19th from 4 - 7 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 20th at 11 am at the funeral home.
