In Memory of Becky Howard-Pon

Rebecca Leigh Howard-Pon of Yorktown Heights, NY, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021 after a short and brave fight against a rare and aggressive form of sarcoma cancer. She was 34 years old. Raised in Poughkeepsie, NY, she was an avid horse rider and riding competitor, a trailblazing Girl Scout, and a passionate cookie baker. She was a 2005 graduate of Arlington High School, where she met her High School Sweetheart and Husband, Daren Pon. They married May the 4th, 2019.

She attended the University at Albany, majoring in Information Science and graduating in 2009. She began her successful career at IBM as a college summer intern and was recently promoted to Senior Firmware Engineer Manager at IBM Z this past summer.

Becky dedicated her life to her family and her animals, and spent much of her time at MLC Farm caring for her beloved horse, Boone. She loved being with everyone at the farm, both two-legged and four, and considered them all her greatest friends. She now joins her fur-baby angels, Keebler, Reese's, Pancake, Peanut, Rex, Abu, Tiger, Moe, Momma Kitty, Ray, Bandit, Pansy, B.R., and Jessie.

She is survived by her husband Daren, parents Martin and Kathy Howard, grandmother Frances Gill, brother Drew Howard (Gina), aunt and godmother Michele Gill, in-laws Jon and Aggie Pon, sisters-in-law Damira Kainz (Andy) and Dana Pon, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was the beloved Aunt and Godmother to Kira Kainz

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 1-3pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533. There will be a service at 3pm.
