Reynaldo Delgado, a longtime resident of Wappingers Falls, formerly of Beverly Hills, FL and the Bronx, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh. He was 70.
Son of the late Ezequiel Delgado Russi and Leonides Rivera, he was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico on June 27, 1956. He relocated to the Bronx as a young boy.
Reynaldo worked for many years as a doorman and maintenance worker at The Buchanan, a residential apartment building in Manhattan. He also worked for New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development. He retired in 2011.
Reynaldo was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Wappingers Falls and he enjoyed many hobbies including hunting, mechanical work, construction, carpentry, masonry, and more. He loved to cook, especially for his family.
He will be remembered for his incredible sense of humor and his willingness to make others laugh. More than anything else, he was a true patriarch who cherished his family, most especially his grandchildren.
On December 31, 1974, he married Selenia Acosta in the Bronx. Selenia survives at home in Wappingers Falls.
Additional survivors include his daughter, Elfrieda Delgado & her husband Bernard Jackson of Kissimmee, FL; his son, Reynaldo Delgado & his wife Aracely of Yonkers; his son, Steven Delgado of Wappingers Falls; his son, Danny Delgado of Wappingers Falls; his beloved grandchildren, Milo, Tiana, Reyna, Selina, Lysandra, Miguel, Daniella, Kristina, and Danny Jr.; three great-grandsons; his siblings, Lydia Esther Acosta, Jacinta Delgado, Justina Falzone & her husband Salvatore, Rosa Delgado, Jose Angel Delgado, and Elizabeth Delgado; in addition to a host of nieces & nephews along with their families; and countless other loving family members.
Calling hours will be held from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, July 6 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. Words of remembrance will be shared at 7:00pm. Burial will take place at 10:00am on Tuesday, July 7 at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY.
