Richard A. Arco, 90, an area resident since 1974 and formerly of New York City, died on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at the Lutheran Care Center in Poughkeepsie.

Born in Milltown, NJ on May 8, 1921, he was the son of Luis and Catherine Gaston del Arco. Richard retired as a machinist for American Cystoscope in Mount Vernon and was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction where he served as an usher.

Survivors include his children, Richard A. Arco and his wife Lillian of Clinton Corners, Catherine Kennedy and her husband Walter of Huntington and Robert Arco of Seattle, WA; his grandchildren, Craig and Jennifer Arco, Christopher and Melissa Arco, Lizabeth and George Skyba, Sean Kennedy, James Kennedy and Jessica Arco; and his great-grandchildren, Nathan, Cameron, Courtney and Brooke Arco, Tyler Lee and Riley Skyba.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Interment will follow in St. Denis Cemetery with military honors.
