WAPPINGERS FALLS - Richard Carson, 84, an area resident for over 52 years, died on November 19, 2025 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He previously lived in Ossining, NY, Key West, FL, and Anchorage, AK.
Born on May 25, 1941 in the Bronx, Richard was the son of the late Donald and Eileen (O'Connor) Carson. He proudly served in the US Air Force. Richard retired from IBM after 30+ years of service.
An avid fan of the NY Giants, Knicks, and Yankees, Richard also enjoyed bowling. Richard was a season ticket holder of the HV Renegades since the inaugural season. He coached his daughters' softball teams when they were young and played baseball himself. In retirement, he volunteered his time at the Castle Point VA Medical Center. More than anything, he was incredibly proud of his children and grandchildren's accomplishments and so loved his great grandchildren.
On January 15, 1964 in Anchorage, AK, he married Judith (White) Carson who survives at home after 61 years of marriage. He is also survived by his daughters, Teresa Paino of Poughkeepsie, Kelly DeNicolais of Poughkeepsie, and Suzanne Viafore of Fishkill; his grandchildren Kevin and Robyn Paino, Sean and Ashley Paino, Ashley DeNicolais, and Brett DeNicolais; his great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Keegan, Savannah, and Lucy; his brother, Donald Carson and his wife Ann; his sister-in-law, Roberta Carson; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Richard was also predeceased by his brothers, John Carson and Denis Carson.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 23rd from 2-5pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial is being offered on Monday, November 24th at 10 am at St. Mary, Our Lady of the Falls Church, 11 Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls followed by burial at St. Mary's Cemetery.
