Born on May 25, 1941 in the Bronx, Richard was the son of the late Donald and Eileen (O'Connor) Carson. He proudly served in the US Air Force. Richard retired from IBM after 30+ years of service.

He coached his daughters' softball teams when they were young and played baseball himself. In retirement, he volunteered his time at the Castle Point VA Medical Center. More than anything, he was incredibly proud of his children and grandchildren's accomplishments and so loved his great grandchildren.

On January 15, 1964 in Anchorage, AK, he married Judith (White) Carson who survives at home after 61 years of marriage. He is also survived by his daughters, Teresa Paino of Poughkeepsie, Kelly DeNicolais of Poughkeepsie, and Suzanne Viafore of Fishkill; his grandchildren Kevin and Robyn Paino, Sean and Ashley Paino, Ashley DeNicolais, and Brett DeNicolais; his great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Keegan, Savannah, and Lucy; his brother, Donald Carson and his wife Ann; his sister-in-law, Roberta Carson; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
