Wappingers Falls – Richard Stephen Clark Sr, 81, an area resident for 50 years and formerly of White Plains, died on April 12, 2023 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in White Plains on November 13, 1941, he was the son of Charles Robert and Viola Joan (Knapp) Clark. He proudly served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Richard had worked as a civil engineer with Raymond Keyes Engineering in Elmsford.
Richard was a member of the Valley Christian Church, Hopewell Junction, N.Y.. He had been very involved in the local Tres Dias ministry. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and was also a Junior Assistant Scout Master. He was also a proud member of the American Legion and the VFW.
On June 8, 1963 in White Plains, Richard married Diane Scholl who survives at home. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Richard and Nicole Clark, Robert Clark, and Dawn and Christopher Masterson; his grandchildren, Olivia Rose Knesnik and her husband Brandon, Adam Clark, Ian Clark, Mackenzie Masterson and Logan Masterson; his great-grandchildren, Adalynn, Brielle, Emersyn and Elia Mae; his sister, Marilyn L. McCoy; and nieces and nephews, Kim and Mike Schmittenger and Bill and Jocelyn LeCount; his brother and sister-in-law, Cliff and Charlotte Scholl; and niece and nephew, Katie Scholl (pre-deceased) and Chris Scholl; his additional brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Maureen Scholl; and nieces and nephews, Jared and Diana Scholl, and Lindsay Scholl and Michael Tuttle; and several great nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-6pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. There will be a funeral service and military honors at 5:30pm.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Guiding Eyes for the Blind.
