Richard J. DeCola, Jr., 29, passed away at home suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. He was born in Mount Kisco on November 17, 1992 and resided in Mahopac for several years until his family relocated to Fishkill. Ricky was a graduate of John Jay High School (East Fishkill) and attended Dutchess Community College. He worked at his father's company, DECO Management & Construction Corp., where he became a skilled heavy equipment operator. Prior to working with his father, he was a lifeguard and personal trainer. Ricky loved swimming and the ocean. He was an avid outdoorsman whose hobbies included hiking, climbing, and mountain biking. He also took interest in gardening and enjoyed creating videos for his YouTube channel.
Ricky will be remembered by his family and friends as an "old soul" who cherished spending time doing the things he loved. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his mother, Patricia Snowden; his father, Richard DeCola, Sr.; his brothers, Nickolas and Anthony DeCola; his grandmother, Rita Scarcello; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other loving relatives & friends.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Neil Snowden, Dolores Snowden, and Martin DeCola; and his cousin, Christopher Snowden.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A funeral service will be conducted at 6 p.m. immediately following the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, relatives & friends are encouraged to make memorial donations to 4-H Animal Squad 27 Barclay Road Clintondale, NY 12515 ATTN: Priscilla or send trees or shrubs that can be re-planted in Ricky's memory.
