Obituary

POUGHKEEPSIE - Richard J. Gannon, 79, an area resident for 35 years, died on February 19, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born in the Bronx on July 24, 1938, he was the son of the late Richard and Josephine (Granger) Gannon. Richard served in the US Army and was the owner and operator of Tri County Locksmith. Richard was an 8th Don Black Belt and Karate Instructor in Jiu-jitsu. He enjoyed scuba diving, golfing, playing cards and joking around.

On May 20, 1961 at St. John Vianney Church in the Bronx, Richard married Eleanor Gilvey who survives at home. He is also survived by his son, Timothy Gannon and his wife Jen; his daughters, Beth Gannon and Lori Fracasse; and his grandchildren, Paige, Shane, Noelle, Morgan, Emma, Vincent, and Hailey. He was predeceased by his son, Robert Gannon.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 10am at St. Denis Cemetery, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction.
