BEACON- Richard James Garcia, 56, loving father, son, brother, husband, and friend, reunited with friends and family in paradise on October 19, 2023 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born on June 7, 1967, in the Bronx, Richard was the son of Judith Garcia and the late Eduardo Garcia. Rich grew up in Haverstraw, NY where he and his brothers played community sports including Football, Little League baseball and CYO basketball for St. Peter's. This love of competition and sports has been passed down to a multi-generational family that passionately enjoys playing sports, board games, and includes frequent battles of wit.

Richard had a deep connection with his faith in Christ and worshiped often by incorporating another great love of his, music. Richard had a beautiful singing voice that brought a smile to everyone who heard it. His most cherished moments were spent with his family. Rich was always quick with a joke, advice, or a helping hand whenever needed. Having the superpower to fix practically anything, his services were utilized regularly.

Richard is survived by his wife of 15 years, Carla M. Garcia of Beacon; his children, Christine Murray and her husband Ryan Murray (Fishkill), James Garcia and his fiancé Rose Him (Brewster), John Garcia and his fiancé Marissa Abreu (Garnerville), Christian Garcia and Nicholas Garcia; his mother, Judith Garcia(Middletown); his brothers, Edward Garcia and his wife Lisa Garcia(Westtown); Michael Garcia and his wife Megan Garcia(Bethel); his nieces and nephews, Edward Garcia, Jr., Stephanie Garcia, Alexander Garcia, Julia Garcia, and Audrey Garcia; his aunt, Donna Marrero; and his former wife, Patricia Campisi.

Richard was predeceased by his father and his uncle, John Marrero.
