Richard C. Greagor, 83, a local area resident since 1989, formerly of Yonkers, died at the Castle Point V.A. Medical Center on Friday, November 20, 2009.
For 27 years, he worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement in 1990.  Richard also served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Born in Yonkers on September 21, 1926, he was the son of the late Joseph and Isabelle Farquhar Greagor.  In 1953, he married Janet Hayes in Yonkers.  Mrs. Greagor predeceased him in 2004.
Survivors include his son, Richard Greagor of Hopewell Junction; daughter, Catherine Di Falco of Hopewell Junction; grandchildren, Richard A. Greagor of Newburgh, Stacy Greagor of Hopewell Junction, and Karen Apablaza of New Jersey; great-granddaughter, Sophia Apablaza of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.
Richard was predeceased by three brothers, Robert, Joseph, and Emerick Greagor, as well as his daughter-in-law, Johanna M. "Jodie" Greagor.
Calling hours are from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.  A funeral service with military honors will begin at 5 p.m. in the funeral home immediately following calling hours.
