Richard T. Fuhst, Jr., 27, a lifelong area resident, died on Monday, September 28, 2015 at Mid Hudson Regional Hospital from injuries sustained in an accident.
Born in New York City on November 22, 1987, he was the son of Richard T. Fuhst, Sr. and Arlene Brown Fuhst. Richie attended John Jay High School. He loved both ice hockey and roller hockey and played on many local teams including East Fishkill Dragons, Millbrook Knights, Ice Time Polar Bears, and the Dutchess Hawks. He had also been a volunteer firefighter with the Hillside Lake Fire Company. Richie was employed as a carpenter with Richard & Sons in Wappingers Falls.
In addition to his parents, Richie is survived by his brothers, Anthony Martinez and Dominick Fuhst; his sisters, Lena Fuhst and Nichole Fuhst; his nephew, Anthony Jr.; his grandparents, Joan Kiernan, Richard and Paula Fuhst; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
