Richard Porter's Obituary
POUGHKEEPSIE - Richard A. Porter, Sr., 66, a resident of Poughkeepsie, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at MidHudson Regional Hospital.
Born in Peekskill on May 6, 1948, he was the son of the late Floyd and Catherine (McCoy) Porter. Richard had been employed as a landscaper at the Villagecrest Apartments in Poughkeepsie.
He is survived by his wife, Miriam Martinez-Porter; his children, Richard A. Porter, Jr. and his wife Mina, Renita Porter, Carmen Martinez, Daniel Porter, Anita Garcia and her husband Santo, Michael "Smurf" Porter, and D'Asia Martinez-Porter; his sister, Lilian Dykeman; and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10 am at the funeral home followed by interment at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley.
