EAST FISHKILL – Richard B. Sacks, 63, died peacefully on May 6, 2021 at his home following a long illness.

Born in Yonkers on March 21, 1958, he was the son of Diana (Kovach) Sacks and the late Murray Sacks. Rich grew up in Dobbs Ferry, and graduated from Oneonta and the Pace University School of Law. He worked as a Legal Aid Attorney in the Bronx and as a personal injury attorney in Westchester and Dutchess Counties.

Rich is survived by his wife of 32 years, Debra (Studer) Sacks; his son, Timothy Sacks; his mother, Diana Sacks; his brothers, Jeff Sacks and Gary Sacks; and his sisters, Nancy Rizzi and Gail Prout.

Rich lived bravely for many years with Multiple Sclerosis and was an inspiration to all who knew him. His family thanks the caregivers who enabled Rich to remain at home. In particular, we thank Lenore Crofts, Rich's caregiver for many years and his angel of mercy.
